The First Annual Newcomers and Neighbors Fundraiser for The Town That Cares

We hope you were able to be a part of the magical evening at the Pond House. It was a huge success and we are thrilled to announce that we raised over $6,300 for our charity due to your generosity and the generosity of our wonderful donors. The Town That Cares is a town charity that serves in many different capacities. They run the food pantry, backpacks with school supplies, meals for the elderly, heating assistance and many other types of emergency assistance. The Town That Cares is solely funded through donations, serving residents of West Hartford. The people they are supporting are truly our neighbors, and we couldn’t be more honored to partner with such a great organization, giving back to our community. The evening’s festivities began with a wonderful wine tasting by Wine Cellars 4 featuring 33 wines from vineyards located in Connecticut to Italy. 10% of purchases were donated to the Noah Webster House, and they are still honoring purchases made after the event (see order form at end of newsletter). The main event, our silent auction, featured wonderful baskets and goodies which went to some very lucky auction winners. Special guests for the evening included Mayor Scott Slifka speaking for the town; Miss Connecticut 2012, Emily Audibert speaking about fundraising; and the night’s Emcee, Jill Pollack of HGTV Canada’s Consumed. Dancing was highlighted by DJ Joan Dylan of 100.5 FM. Be sure to join the fun next year as we dance into the wee hours of the night.
